RELIABILITY ENHANCEMENT PROJECT
Proposed New 230-kV Transmission Line and 230/69-kV Substation
As part of our commitment to ensure a secure energy grid for Florida, we have determined a need to construct a new 230-kilovolt (kV) transmission line and new 230/69-kV substation in Levy County, Fla. This project will strengthen reliability to meet growing demand and will enhance the ability of Duke Energy and neighboring utilities to provide safe and reliable energy to homes, community facilities and businesses in Levy County and surrounding areas. A preferred route has been selected and is shown here.
The comments and feedback we received were a vital part of Duke’s comprehensive process for selecting routes for the new transmission lines. We have selected a route that we believe will have the least overall impact to homes, personal property, businesses, the environment and the community.
